My artwork is named Lúnasa, referring to a cross-quarter festival from the Celtic wheel of the year. Lúnasa is a time of celebration of all that has been seeded and grown and marks our gentle walk away from the light toward the darker half of the year.
In the autumn months, nature puts on a spectacular show as many trees and flowers have their final flourish before the dormant winter months. After spending several days at Kew Gardens during this time, I created a portrait of time and place in my handwoven vessels to both preserve these experiences and share them with others.
