The Return of Spring is inspired by the colours of the fresh new leaves of birch trees, as spring finally sweeps in across a Scottish Highland landscape. Rich, deep colours of the land lift the hills from their wintery hibernation.
Both silver birch and downy birch trees have been growing along Scottish hillsides and glens continuously since the last ice age. They are always there, but you have to slow down to notice the detail in the patterns, colours, shapes, and textures. Through a weaver’s eye, they have to be woven.
Made in wool, a sustainable, biodegradable fibre.
