This drawing began with a memory of the igloo-like homestead architecture at the beginning of Star Wars: A New Hope. A graffiti marker-style drawing was then built into a nine-part diamond structure, which then flowed into a mirrored drop repeat. The title One Love refers to a song that was a repeating motif in my teenage years, with the movie being a recurring motif of my childhood. For me, the hand-drawn pattern is like a prayer—the spiritual through repetition—linking it to Ruskin’s concept of spirituality and the theme ‘from the hand to the eye.’
