Biro on paper

These four drawings were originally discrete works from a longstanding project, but I became interested in exploring how groupings of images could suggest unforeseen narratives, in this case on the relationship between perception and creation: shadows as the earliest drawings; chalk/earth as medium; lenses and light in the development of photography; and binary signals in the digital sphere.
Each drawing incorporates its original means of manufacture—the iPhone—not only as a metaphor for ‘from the eye to the hand,’ but also as a framing device, encouraging the eye to enter the space of the drawing and explore.
