Burnt drawing

The work is created by burning thousands of dots onto the paper. The act of making this piece becomes physical, repetitive, and meditative. Working up close, it is primarily my imagination that perceives the piece, but periodically stepping back allows me to fully interpret the drawing. Trees, as the subject matter, hold a space for me that is visual, yet I also spend time with my eyes shut, engaging other senses such as smell, touch, and sound.
